The riddler covers are 3/8" thick I believe, they are more than sufficient for anything you can throw at it. There is nothing "weak" about cast iron, it's biggest down fall is its weight.

The Riddler in front was HORRIBLE for diff cover vs track bar clearance. It required about 3-3.5" of bumpstop clearance to clear the aftermarket track bar.
