I have no experience with this illness as our kids don’t go to daycare. I think I’ve read that the risk to pregnant women is more towards the end of pregnancy and is pretty small. It should not be confused with foot and mouth disease of animals, which is caused by a different virus. HFMD is usually mild and self-limiting.
