Or knowing what to do with files MO2 puts in its overwrite folder. I saved a new bodyslide preset which made it to that folder, but doesn't load the changes although I thought the overwrite folder would load last as its name implies.

I had the same headache with Bodyslide and Legendary edition.. It has to do with where Bodyalide gets installed versus where it thinks your files are. Check your folder locations.. Dollars to donuts it got pointed at an empty folder.. And FYI for future use, install Bodyslide as an independent program..
